Taking the step into club competitions was a huge part of the academy’s growth this year and one which was exciting for all involved. Adding NBL competition to the schedule meant that first team student athletes, with a massive crowd supporting, GGS pulled off a classy 83-73 win which secured the head-to-head score and put the Spartans in prime position to bring home the title. The boys continued to make light work of the opposition in the coming weeks as they beat Brentwood Fire (89-70), Kent Panthers (83-38) and Sevenoaks Suns (127-27) to win the South east Conference title. Gravesend will now progress through to the NBL playoffs with a chance to earn promotion to the Premier division for the 2024/25 season. Stay tuned for updates!

They make every day a joy to be on the floor in practice and each of them bring their own special traits which makes the team dynamics so strong. Our senior academy has played with class this year and bought into a modern brand of basketball which has helped us to be so successful. I cannot wait for the playoffs and look forward to helping these guys with their next steps into university and beyond”.
