As our own admissions authority, we are required under the School Admissions Code 2021 to review our admissions policies annually and to consult on our arrangements when changes are proposed.
1. The school is consulting to alter the admissions oversubscription criteria for entry to the 6th form at the start of year 12.
It is proposed to add a criterion to allocate up to 10 places for eligible students who have demonstrated aptitude in one of the Schools three performance sports (Rugby, Basketball and Netball). This is noted under point 5 of the criteria. Further detail is given towards the end of the document.
Full details of our proposed arrangements for the 6th form can be found below.
2. A clarification has also been made to both the main arrangements and those for the 6th form.
The area of Ebbsfleet has become a Non Civil Parish area (NCP), separating it from Swanscombe and Greenhithe Civil parishes. Because existing arrangements give priority to the civil parishes to the west of Gravesham and we wish to continue to offer priority to these areas, wording has been altered to include ‘and the unparished area of Ebbsfleet’ along with the existing listed civil parishes. Ebbsfleet becoming an NCP and the change of wording does not affect the boundaries of the priority areas as they originally existed under the schools previous admission arrangements.
Any comments on our proposed 6th form admission arrangements should be sent via email to admissions@gravesendgrammar.com and should be received no later than 20th January 2025.
Admission arrangements for September 2024 & September 2025 are in the document links found below.
