Netball - Term 3 round up

Netball - Term 3 round up

Netball at Gravesend Grammar School continues to go from strength to strength. Term 3 was filled with a lot of improvements and learning that will be crucial in our final term of fixtures. The term was made up of training for the first half where the squad continued their improvement, committing to training and working hard as usual. This led into their first fixture of 2024, where Gravesend Grammar hosted Rochester Maths. A resounding victory for Gravesend Grammar which put the squad in great stead leading into a local rivalry week against Dartford Grammar. The squad travelled to Dartford focused on delivering a great performance on the court. The 2nd VII started and worked their way into the game. They built into the game improving every quarter, defence played a vital role in our narrow three point victory. This is a testament to the resilience of the second team who managed to win against a well drilled Dartford side. The 1st VII sadly came up three points shy in a thrilling contest! The game was some of the best netball the team has played all year, playing one of the best quarters of netball in the programme's history. Each of the team left everything out on the court. Each member of the squad in this fixture should be incredibly proud of the effort and proud of the quality of netball that was played. The season finished against a strong Hayes side with two losses, that the squad will learn a lot from.

This year is the first full year of fixtures and the programme has passed fifteen fixtures for the year. The ability of the girls to punch above their weight with schools who have established programmes is a testament to their hard work! The only way is up for this squad as they work towards a tournament held at Gravesend Grammar at the end of Term 4.
