GGS Carol Service 2023

The GGS Carol Service, running at least from the 1960s, returned this year putting Year 7 at the centre of festive celebrations. St George’s Church was filled with the usually joyous sounds of the massed Year 7s, School Choir and Staff Choir. As has become a tradition, we were treated to the world premiere of two musical pieces composed by our own 6th Form musicians. PFM

Callum Fooks 12AJS writes: On 12th December, our School held the wonderful Year 7 Carol Service, accompanied by the School Choir, Prefects, and a flurry of staff members. As per every year, it was an event enjoyed by all, including compositions by Zak Seagers and myself; a performance of Carol of The Bells from the recorder group; a very loud gong; and a Christmas decoration shop run by the DT department to accompany the PTA and their snacks afterwards! All of the students and members of staff involved have worked very hard, and finished the year off with a gong!
