Badminton - County success!

The Y11 team of Jack Robertson (11C), Valentine Clarke (11C), Nick Williams (11H) and Jack Williams (11S) took on the top Badminton teams in the county to play for a place in the South East regional finals. The team felt confident even if apprehensive to play against the top players in Kent. First up were Skinners A and then B teams where the team emphatically won 5-0 in both, showing real composure and concentration. Next up, the old rivals of The Judd School. With a close fought 18-16 victory in the singles and a comfortable win in the doubles 2-0 they looked a good shout for a win. However, Judd fought back to make it 2-2 before a topsy-turvey game that went 16-14 to Judd, despite a 14-11 lead in the final game. Next a convincing 5-0 win against Langley Park School raised morale once more, setting us up ready for two tough games with Sevenoaks school. Some incredibly tight games but they all came out firing, winning 4-1. Leaving the final match vs Ashford. The team played incredibly well, winning the final game 3-2. Some excellent games and teamwork across the day finishing second behind the Judd school with hopefully a place at the South East final on offer.
