Sponsored Walk

Students from Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 took part in our annual Sponsored Walk. 

We were lucky with the weather—after an extremely warm few days beforehand, the day of the walk dawned warm but cloudy.  Departing GGS at two minute intervals in form groups, the 13 mile walk started by heading up through Singlewell and across the A2 towards Nash Street and Round Street.  Then through the orchards in Cobham (where there was a refreshment stop), across the Golf Course and Shorne Ridgeway.  Our lunch stop was at the Scout Hut in Shorne.  From there it was the long footpath across the fields in Thong before returning to School along Rochester Road.  Most students completed the course this year and returned tired but successful. 

Our charities are this are: Young Minds (Cliff), Family Matters (Downs), Isabel’s Voice (Fleet), Abigail’s Footsteps (Hill), Gravesham Sanctuary (School) and National Autistic Society (Town). A huge thank you to all parents and volunteers who walked and marshalled alongside staff and students.
