A Bumper Crop!

The summer break now feels like a distant memory but the new term brings with it a new excitement and enthusiasm as we welcome the new Year 7s and 12s.

We were very pleased with our GCSE results which saw an improvement from last year. 44% of all grades were Level 7 or above and the majority of students have returned to our 6th Form. It is really important that the current Year 11 students are fully aware of the entry requirements for the 6th Form and that they are working hard towards this goal. The School has had a strong focus on A-levels over the last three years and we were delighted that the students achieved the highest average point score ever. A*/A grades were at 34% and the average grade was a B. These outstanding results saw most students securing their first choice places at University and an incredible 11 students gained places at Medical School.

Special mention must go to Omar Elkhouli, who was rewarded with a place at Cambridge to study Medicine. I was Acting Headteacher at Whitehill Primary School when Omar was in Year 4 there and he has had to put up with me for 10 years but I never had any doubt that he would achieve his dream, even from such a young age.
