Netball - Term 3 Round Up

Term 3 has seen the Netball squad hit their stride in terms of performances. The squad have continued with their busy weekly schedule following Christmas and the hard work and consistency in their training has shown in their performances.
The 1st VII started with a thrilling contest against Farringtons School that ended up in a 16-16 draw, coming down to the final seconds. This was followed by two brilliant performances at Hayes, against a notoriously strong programme where the 1st VII came just short losing by three points and the 2nd VII put on an incredible performance to win by 14 points. Both squads moved onto a very tough block against King’s Canterbury’s 2nd and 3rd teams. Both teams displayed their best performances of the season. The second team game went backwards and forwards and eventually ended up with Gravesend losing 16-13. The first team played some of the best netball that has been played at this school and as a result won resoundingly 30 -13.
The final two games of the term were return fixtures of games from Term 2. First up was Bexley Grammar who managed to get the better of both our teams in the first set of fixtures. The improvement was clear and the 1st VII won their match convincingly and the 2nd VII were involved in another close game losing by two. For the final game of the term a 1st VII squad headed down to Dartford Grammar who were eager to respond to the 1 point defeat they had suffered in November. We are so proud of all the girls on our team, a cracking 40-18 victory is testament to the commitment and improvements the team has made.
