Bronze DofE (Year 9) This term, 45 enthusiastic Year 9 students have signed up for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) at the Bronze level, kicking off an exciting journey that will help them develop new skills, build confidence and create lasting memories. Over the next few months, they will attend a series of training sessions designed to equip them with everything they need for a successful expedition in the summer. Topics will include navigation, map reading, cooking, the Countryside Code, the Highway Code and pitching tents – key skills for the outdoor challenges they will face on their journey.
The DofE is a fantastic opportunity for personal growth. Students will learn how to work as a team, overcome obstacles and develop resilience in a supportive environment. They will also discover new passions, whether it is hiking, cooking or environmental responsibility. We are looking forward to seeing how our students rise to the challenge, and we are committed to supporting them every step of the way. Here’s to an adventure full of learning, fun, and achievement! (Fun fact: The DofE was established in 1956 by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and has since become one of the world’s leading youth achievement programs, with millions of participants worldwide – not just the UK.)
