During the Year 13 PSHE day there were hustings in which political representatives from a variety of different political parties came into school. There were representatives from the Green party, labour, Conservatives, Liberal Democrats and Reform UK. They were answering questions that we asked and presented differing opinions and answers to each other, it was very insightful. It allowed us to see where each party stood on key issues. Through the debate we were able to ask burning questions such as where each party stood on immigration, benefits and others that we believe would affect us in the future. During the event, our current MP for Gravesham joined and afterwards we were able to ask questions on what it is like being an MP in Parliament which was eye opening and very interesting. I found it very interesting to hear the differing opinions of so many political parties on hot topics in the news at the moment and issues that will affect us in the future such as tuition fees. Overall, it was a very entertaining and informative afternoon.
