GGS Engineering Society - Term 4

Sixth Form students in the Engineering Society this term have been working hard to finalise their projects to submit to the Big Bang Competition. Looking at ways to improve the world including: a novel solution to single use plastics; an environmental improvement for motorsport; and a scientific solution to wound management for healthcare professionals. I look forward to seeing the finished projects next week and hearing how their submissions get on in the competition. Today we also escaped the classroom and took a tour of the Amazon Fulfilment Centre at Dartford. It was fascinating to see the engineering in action with machines and robots enhancing the processes to improve safety, speed and accuracy. The students were interested to hear about some of the many opportunities for career development on offer including degree apprenticeships in Engineering, Software development and Management.
