Netball - Term 2 Round up

As the second term draws to a close we can reflect on the success of the First, Second and Third teams in their block fixtures. The settled performance squad made up of 26 girls, has laid a solid foundation for the remainder of the season after Christmas.

Twice-weekly training, skills sessions and a packed block of fixtures for both teams has meant that everyone involved has dedicated themselves to the programme and ensured they put themselves in a position to succeed. The season began with two close losses away to Bexley Grammar, followed by a resilient performance from all three teams against a very strong Chis & Sid programme. With these learning experiences in the bank, it was time for the local derby against Dartford Grammar for Boys at home. Both teams displayed superb tactical awareness and execution to pull off two brilliant victories. The Second team led by Emma Patton claimed a 9-3 victory, while our First team led by Tillie Fewell won a nail biting 28-27 win. As the season continued, notable performances from the 1st VII who managed to beat Eltham Colleges development side by a large margin. The 2nd VII put on an excellent display at home to beat Wilmington Grammar for Girls comfortably. As the squad looks forward to the next two terms of fixtures, it remains clear that the growth of the squad each week has been immense. Their camaraderie and cohesiveness has been evident over the course of the first two terms and for this reason the group will be successful regardless of the result on the court.
