Netball - The Three Peaks Challenge

On 6th July, 11 members of the Senior Netball programme travelled to Yorkshire to complete the Three Peaks Challenge. After eleven hours and 35 km, the squad successfully completed the challenge. Our aim was to complete the Three Peaks Challenge in order to raise money to aid the development and expansion of the Gravesend Grammar Netball programme within the school. We have currently raised £1,090 which will be used to buy new kit and equipment throughout the year as well as giving us as many opportunities to represent the school playing netball. On behalf of the netball team, I would like to thank everyone who has donated as your contributions mean a lot to us. Although it was physically and mentally challenging, everyone stuck together as a team and stayed positive, even when it got towards the end of the walk. Everyone should be very proud of what they have achieved and this just highlights the dedication and passion that every member of the squad has to help the netball programme to thrive. To be given this opportunity means a lot to us and it wouldn’t have been made possible without the efforts from the teachers, who have supported each and every one of us not only during the trip, but throughout this whole year. This trip has brought the group together and increased the morale among us, which puts us in a good position going forward into next year, where we look forward to welcoming the new Year 12s and ensuring they receive a similar experience to us.
