The Milton Award - Term 6 review

The Milton Award - Term 6 review

Coffee and Interviews - what a way to end the academic year!

We are delighted to have awarded our second scholarships for the Milton Award. We proudly invited Mr Yinka Tomori (Father of Fikayo Tomori), Mr Paul Henry (Esquire Developments) and our current Head Student Theo Li to be a part of the interview panel. It was a morning filled with gaining an understanding of the applicants and of tough questioning. All seven students who were interviewed were exceptional candidates and thoroughly deserved the opportunity to be interviewed.

After a lot of discussion and robust conversations the decisions below were made for the awards: Milton Scholarship - Jake Fenton 10Q Milton Tomori Award - William Farrington 10O Special Commendation - Rio Imuere 10N Milton Award with Distinction Harnoor Singh Sandhu 10L Riley Taylor 10O Paras Chodha 10N Jamie Towens 10M We also have a large number of students who have achieved a Half Milton Award or Full Milton Award which is great to see. We will be having a presentation ceremony in school next week which will be a brilliant opportunity to recognise and celebrate their achievements.

In addition to the interview process, we have also seen two outstanding lectures this term. Mrs Gear-Chatham (Head of Drama) gave a fascinating lecture on Special Effects in the Film Industry and Mr Mr El-Dessouki (Head of Psychology) delivered a talk on the History and Culture of coffee which the students found very interesting.
