Year 7

What uniform will my son need?

Formal black shoes
Black socks
Black trousers – no jeans/chinos
White or blue shirt
House tie (Cliff – Blue, Downs – Gold, Fleet – White, Hill – Green, School – Purple, Town – Red)
Black blazer with school badge sewn on
Black or dark grey ‘V’ neck jumper which can be worn underneath the blazer in the winter
Lanyard and ID card (issued by the School in the first instance)

PE lessons can take place both indoors and outdoors.  Below is the kit that your son will need, depending on the lesson.  He will be advised what is needed by the teacher:

Rugby/football boots
Trainers
Appropriate black socks (generally outside games activities require long socks, eg Rugby, Hockey etc)
Black shorts
Navy/light blue rugby jersey
House polo shirt
Shin pads and gum shield
In the event of colder weather, plain coloured thermal under layers, plain appropriate gloves and plain appropriate hats are permitted.

In addition, the GGS Extra-Curricular Sports Kit (Navy/Light Blue) can be worn during PE/Games lessons:

Black Trousers (https://vx-3.com/gravesend-grammar-school-pro-skinny-pants/) are useful optional items during colder months.

Cricket whites (https://vx-3.com/gravesend-grammar-school-cricket-whites-s-s-shirt/) can be worn for cricket lessons in the summer months, but are not a necessary purchase unless representing the school.

Optional non-essential, extra-curricular sportswear can be purchased online at the following link – (https://vx-3.com/gravesend-grammar/). Black short, long black socks and a number of other items are available here – the Navy/Light blue colour is for Y7-11 students.
